October 2  - 2 Online Instructor Update Course
February 16  - 16 NL Basic Standards Course 2/16/2016 Loretto, MN

The ACA Standards Course is specifically designed to help prepare people who are NEW to the accreditation process for their accreditation visits, and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for those interested in becoming accreditation visitors. The camp may or may not be currently accredited. A person completing the ACA Standards Course on behalf of a camp is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit, be on site a significant amount of time during the camp season, and participate fully in the on-site accreditation visit. Due to revisions to the standards in September 2014, a camp representative must complete a standards course or standards update course, October 2014 or later, before an accreditation visit can occur. ACA membership is not required. The $10 fee covers the cost of morning coffee and lunch.

February 24  - 25 OH Associate Visitor Course 2/24/2016 Oregonia, OH

The Associate Visitor Course provides training to individuals who wish to volunteer to conduct accreditation visits. Participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of a visitor, including legal implications of visitor actions; develop information-gathering skills; and learn to use resources available to make consistent compliance decisions. Participants will also understand the educational value of the accreditation process and become positive representatives and advocates for ACA. There is no charge for this course. Prerequisites: Age 21 or older; current individual ACA membership; submission of Associate Visitor application approved by the ACA local office; completion of current standards course; completion of online course (approx. 2 hours) prior to the in-person course. The purpose of this course is to bring current standards personnel and/or camp directors up to date. The Standards Update Course will highlight specific changes to the program as well as review the overall accreditation process to address frequently missed or misunderstood standards. This course is only for camps familiar with the accreditation process. All camps due for an accreditation visit in 2016 must attend a Standards Update Course or a Full Standards Course.

The Standards Course prepares camp directors for their accreditation visit and serves as an introduction to the standards program for people interested in becoming standards visitors. The course describes the purpose and value of standards and accreditation, and gives an explanation of how the process works and what resources and materials are available. This course is required for camps planning to go through the accreditation process in 2016.
March 30  - 30 NE Moving from Associate Visitor to Visitor 3.29.16 Manchester, NH

This course is for any lead visitor who would like a review or any Associate Visitor who has recently been promoted to Lead Visitor.

The course has been developed to serve as a “stepping stone” between being an Associate Visitor and Visitor. The goals of this course:
• Develop a better understanding of the role of a Visitor
• Build confidence as a Visitor
• Understand where and how to find Visitor resources
• Review important information from the Associate Visitor Training Course.

March 30  - 30 NE Visitor Update Course 3.30.16 Manchester, NH

This training is designed especially for visitors who were not able to attend the required Visitor Update for 2015. Come learn about the newly revised standards, get set for the summer of 2015. Visitors that attend the Visitor Update Course will receive credit AND their participation will also “count” as the Standards Update for the camp or program they are affiliated with.
