November 6  - 6 ACA, WI 2014 Fall Gathering and Educational Event East Troy, WI

ACA Wisconsin if hosting the annual Fall Gathering November 6 from 8:30am to 4:00pm at Camp Alice Chester. Our keynote speaker this year will be Scott Arizala. Scott will be leading our morning session on Where Magic Happens: The Power of Summer and facilitating breakout sessions in the afternoon. There will also be other breakout sessions on neuro-leadership, creating a safe camp environment, and we will also be offering standards training for visitors and camps who will be visited this upcoming summer. This is a one day event. Coffee and lunch will be provided.

November 11  - 11 ACA, NE Standards Full Course 11.11.14 North Andover, MA

The purpose of the ACA Standards Course is to prepare camp directors and administrators for their accreditation visits and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for those interested in becoming accreditation visitors. The person completing the ACA Standards Course is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit and fully participate in the on-site visit. ACA membership is not a prerequisite for this course. This course is required for camps seeking 2015 accreditation
November 15  - 15 ACA, NL Associate Visitor Course 11.15.14 Loretto, MN

This course is for those wishing to become visitors in the ACA Accreditation Program. Completion of a Standards Course and ACA membership are a prerequisite. All attendees are required to attend the full course. Participant cost covers meals and snacks All attendees will receive a copy of the new Accreditation Process Guide.

Prepares camp executives/directors/owners personnel already familiar with ACA Standards Program with information and training on the newly revised camp standards. This course is appropriate for camp directors/administrators/owners "experienced" in the ACA accreditation process – have completed the 2012 Standards Course and assisted a camp through an accreditation visit. Those attending will have been through the accreditation process, either as a director or visitor. Please bring your APG.

All current visitors who wish to visit camps are required to complete the Visitor Update Course prior to 2015 visit. Bring your APG and updates you have received.

His skills range from the traditional teambuilding and adventure-based learning program areas to staff unity and skill building, song leading, square dance calling, social recreation, boomerang throwing, model rocket launching, disc golf course construction and dozens of other valuable and sometimes surprising camp and outdoor skills. Conference includes a variety of workshops, networking and more! Registration includes conference, Tuesday overnight lodging and meals. ACA's Standards course serves as an introduction to ACA's Standards Program and helps participants prepare for accreditation visits. The course describes the purpose and value of standards and accreditation, and gives an explanation of how the process works and what resources and materials are available. The full standards course is designed for the individual who is NEW to the accreditation process and is required of anyone going through accreditation for the first time. The course offers specific discussion about the requirements of the standards, including: application of the core and specialized activity standards, mandatory standards, and written documentation requirements. There is NO COST to attend this course, however participants must register ahead of time to attend. One Accreditation Program Guide will be given to each camp. BRING A SACK LUNCH.

This training is designed especially for visitors and serves as the required Visitor Update for 2015. Come learn about the newly revised standards, and get set for the summer of 2015. Visitors that attend the Visitor Update Course will receive credit AND their participation will also “count” as the Standards Update for the camp or program they are affiliated with.

The course describes the purpose and value of standards and accreditation, and gives an explanation of how the process works and what resources and materials are available. The course offers specific discussion about the requirements of the standards, including: application of the core and specialized activity standards, mandatory standards, and written documentation requirements. This course is appropriate for individual who have not previously been involved in the preparation of materials for an accreditation visit. An updated 2012 Accreditation Process Guide (APG) is needed for this course. This course is appropriate for camps seeking Accreditation for 2015 and for camps thinking about accreditation in the future. Bring a sack lunch
January 14  - 14 ACA, VA Visitor Update Course January 14, 2015 Williamsburg, VA

New Standards introduced in 2012 and have been revised; revisions are effective for the 2015 accreditation visits. It is important for you to attend a Visitor Update Course to become up to date on the changes in the standards before you begin conducting Camp Self-Assessments and on site visits.
