March 13  - 13 ACA, UPNY Standards Cours 3/13/2015 Gainesville, NY

ACA's Standards Course serves as an introduction to ACA's accreditation program and helps participants prepare for accreditation visits. The course describes the purpose and value of standards and accreditation and gives an explanation of how the process works and what resources and materials are available. The course offers specific discussion about the requirements of the standards, including: application of the core and specialized activity standards, mandatory standards, and written documentation requirements. This course is appropriate for individuals who are NEW to the accreditation process and have not previously been involved in the preparation of materials for an accreditation visit. An updated 2012 Accreditation Process Guide (APG) is needed for this course. This course is appropriate for camps seeking Accreditation for 2015 and for camps thinking about accreditation in the future. Lunch is provided.

March 25  - 26 ACA, HS Associate Visitor Course 3-25-2015 Campbellsville, KY

ACA's Associate Visitor course helps participants identify the purpose and structure of ACA's accreditation programs and understand the steps of the process at the camp, section, and national levels. Participants become familiar with the legal implications of visitor actions, as well as develop skills in gathering information, making compliance decisions, and consistently applying the standards in a variety of situations. This course stresses the awareness and acceptance of the intent of the standards to represent accepted practices of organized camping. Prerequisite: Participants in the Associate Visitor Course must be at least twenty-one years of age, a current ACA member, and have completed the Standards course and an application endorsed by their local ACA office. There is also an online pre-course (2.5 hours) that must be completed prior to the in person course. Please contact azoellner@acacamps.org if you are interested in this course.
March 26  - 26 ACA, NE Standards Update 9:00 3.26.15 Manchester, NH

The purpose of this course is to bring current standards personnel and/or camp directors up to date. The Standards Update Course will highlight specific changes to the program as well as review the overall accreditation process to address frequently missed or misunderstood standards. This course is only for camps familiar with the accreditation process. All camps due for an accreditation visit in 2015 must attend a Standards Update Course or a Full Standards Course.
March 26  - 26 ACA, NE Standards Full Course 3.26.15 Manchester, NH

The Standards Course prepares camp directors for their accreditation visit and serves as an introduction to the standards program for people interested in becoming standards visitors. The course describes the purpose and value of standards and accreditation, and gives an explanation of how the process works and what resources and materials are available. This course is required for camps planning to go through the accreditation process in 2015.
March 26  - 26 ACA, NE Visitor Update 3.26.15 Manchester, NH

This training is designed especially for visitors and serves as the required Visitor Update for 2015. Come learn about the newly revised standards, get set for the summer of 2015 and enjoy a morning with your fellow visitors! There is no cost to attend the Visitor Update Course but registration is required. Individuals attending the Visitor Update Course are encouraged to stay for lunch and to attend the Fall Conference (separate registration required). Visitors that attend the Visitor Update Course will receive credit AND their participation will also “count” as the Standards Update for the camp or program they are affiliated with.

This course is for any lead visitor who would like a review or any Associate Visitor who has recently been promoted to Lead Visitor.

The course has been developed to serve as a “stepping stone” between being an Associate Visitor and Visitor. The goals of this three part opportunity are:
• Develop a better understanding of the role of a Visitor
• Build confidence as a Visitor
• Understand where and how to find Visitor resources
• Review important information from the Associate Visitor Training Course.
