October 14  - 14 ACA, VA Sandards Course October 14, 2014 Shepherdstown, West Virginia

This training is intended for directors, staff, and board members of camps being accredited by the American Camp Association. ACA requires that at least one person from the camp or center being visited who will be involved in the accreditation visit attend standards training in the year prior to the visit. This course also serves as a pre-requisite for Associate Visitor Training.
October 20  - 21 ACA, SC OctoberWest 2014 Orange, CA

OctoberWest will give participants the opportunity to participate in networking events, discussion topics, brainstorming sessions, resource sharing and social adventures. The event takes place at the beautiful Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center, located in the Great Park in Orange.
October 22  - 22 ACA, UN Standards Course 10/22/14 Moravia, NY

The Standards Course prepares camp directors for their accreditation visit and serves as an introduction to the standards program for people interested in becoming standards visitors. The course describes the purpose and value of standards and accreditation, and gives an explanation of how the process works and what resources and materials are available. This course is required for camps planning to go through the accreditation process for the first time in 2015. A 2012 Accreditation Process Guide is needed for this course. Lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend, however participants do need to register.

November 11  - 11 ACA, NL Standardss Course 11.11.14 Loretto, MN

The purpose of the ACA Standards Course is to prepare camp directors and administrators for their accreditation visits and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for persons interested in becoming accreditation visitors. The person completing the ACA Standards Course is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit and fully participate in the on-site visit. ACA membership is not a prerequisite for this course.
November 15  - 15 ACA, NL Associate Visitor Course 11.15.14 Loretto, MN

This course is for those wishing to become visitors in the ACA Accreditation Program. Completion of a Standards Course and ACA membership are a prerequisite. All attendees are required to attend the full course. Participant cost covers meals and snacks All attendees will receive a copy of the new Accreditation Process Guide.
November 17  - 17 ACA, GR An Afternoon with Jim Cain Ashland, NE

Join author and team-building guru Dr. Jim Cain for a collection of his favorite, newest and best team- and community-building activities from around the world – including some which require no equipment at all. This fast-paced, active workshop will explore themes from communication and problem solving to leadership and teamwork. Learn how to build real community within the groups you facilitate. His skills range from the traditional teambuilding and adventure-based learning program areas to staff unity and skill building, song leading, square dance calling, social recreation, boomerang throwing, model rocket launching, disc golf course construction and dozens of other valuable and sometimes surprising camp and outdoor skills.
