October 2  - 2 Online Instructor Update Course
December 14  - 14 NE Standards Update 12.14.16 Lexington, MA

The purpose of this course is to bring current standards personnel and/or camp directors up to date. The Standards Update Course will highlight specific changes to the program as well as review the overall accreditation process to address frequently missed or misunderstood standards. This course is only for camps familiar with the accreditation process. All camps due for an accreditation visit in 2017 must attend a Standards Update Course or a Full Standards Course.

January 12  - 12 UN Basic Standards Course - 1-12-2017 Penfield, NY

The ACA Basic Standards Course (5 CECs) is specifically designed to help prepare people who are NEW to the accreditation process for their accreditation visits, and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for those interested in becoming accreditation visitors. The camp may or may not be currently accredited. A person completing the ACA Standards Course on behalf of a camp is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit, be on site a significant amount of time during the camp season, and participate fully in the on-site accreditation visit. Due to revisions to the standards in September 2014, a camp representative must complete a standards course or standards update course, October 2014 or later, before an accreditation visit can occur. There is no charge for this course, and ACA membership is not required. You will need an updated 2012 Accreditation Process Guide (APG) - limited number of loaner copies will be available at the course. Participants will be required to bring a lunch. Drinks will be provided.
January 12  - 12 UN Standards Update Course - 1-12-2017 Penfield, NY

The Standards Update Course is designed for the camp director or staff member who has been actively involved in the preparation of materials and the on-site visit at an ACA-accredited camp in the recent past. A person completing the ACA Standards Course on behalf of a camp is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit, be on site a significant amount of time during the camp season, and participate fully in the on-site accreditation visit. Due to revisions to the standards in September 2014, a camp representative must complete a standards course or standards update course, October 2014 or later, before an accreditation visit can occur. ACA membership is not required.
January 16  - 16 NE Full Standards Course 1.16.17 Farmington, CT

The purpose of the ACA Standards Course is to prepare camp directors and administrators for their accreditation visits and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for persons interested in becoming accreditation visitors. The person completing the ACA Standards Course is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit and fully participate in the on-site visit. ACA membership is not a prerequisite for this course.

The Standards Course prepares camp directors for their accreditation visit and serves as an introduction to the standards program for people interested in becoming standards visitors. The course describes the purpose and value of standards and accreditation, and gives an explanation of how the process works and what resources and materials are available. This course is required for camps planning to go through the accreditation process in 2016.
